Nan After Being Battered, 1984

I've seen this photo before when I first looked at Nan Goldin's work and liked it. I found it again the other day during Studio Kids when we were collaging from old Art Forum magazines and I tore it out and took it home. I think this was the inspiration for my driver's licence picture, but I didn't consciously realize it till after.

Studio Kids

I drew ONLY the face in the bottom left hand corner, while TA'ing and later one of the kids asked me who the portrait was of, and I said "oh it's just a doodle!"
While cleaning up at the end of the day I found the piece of paper transformed into this!
